Unite - the Union and its Organisation

Unite has a range of agreements with Fujitsu. Some apply nationally, others to specific bargaining units, the biggest of which is centred on the Manchester Central Park site and includes some HOM99 staff. Members are organising across the company and aim to win recognition elsewhere.

Unite is Britain's biggest union, and also organises in Ireland. Unite was formed by a merger between two of Britain's' leading unions, the T&G and Amicus. The national web site has general information about Unite.

Unite's structure includes industrial sectors, which have a considerable amount of autonomy. We are part of the Graphical, Paper, Media and IT sector. Within that there is a specialist IT & Communications Advisory Committee made up of reps from our sub-sector.

Every Unite member is part of a branch. This web site belongs to the Fujitsu North-West branch. Another branch with lots of Fujitsu members is the London IT & Comms branch. Branches meet regularly and all members are entitled to attend and vote.
