To find a Rep in Manchester, check here.
Our Manchester Reps also have different roles - see here for details. Their responsibilities fall under three main headings
:
- Recruiting
- building the strength of the union by recruiting new members
- Organising
- building an effective union organisation, keeping members informed and encouraging their involvement in union activities
- Representing
- helping individual members with grievances and
disciplinary issues, representing them in dealings with management, and
negotiating with management on behalf of groups of members
The Manchester Reps meet as a committee at frequent intervals, so tell your Rep if you'd like any matter raising for discussion.
As well as Reps, we have a network of Health and Safety Reps at Central Park. Like Reps, they have specific legal rights but their role is focused around H&S issues. Some Reps do both jobs.

We're in the Unite 9827 Greater Manchester IT Branch of Unite, which meets 5:30-7pm at Fujitsu Services, Central Park, Northampton Road, Manchester, M40 5BP, on the first Thursday of every month. Very occasionally the meeting date is changed, so please check our Events page or our
, rather
than wasting a trip!
|
Of course, like all union members, we can call on the support and advice of our union's full time officers, legal advice and research facilities.
Unite also organises a lot of educational events.
